
Battle of Bach Dang
In the year 938, Vietnam forces successfully defended against the invading chinese navel forces. This would be the biggest and most influential battle in vietnams history because vietnam finally broke free of over 1000 years of chinese rule.
In 931, Dương Đình Nghệ, a decendent of the Khuc family who basically rule vietnam, but had been under chinese control for over three generations. Dương Đình Nghệ was a talented general who defeated the Southern Han army by cornering them at an old citidel in Hanoi. Afterwords he declaired himself jidushi. He ruled for seven years before he was assassinated by a vietamese man named Kiều Công Tiễn to take the thrown for himself. Dihn Nghe's son in law Ngô Quyền started a military campain to take revenge for his lord/father in law. in response to this Kieu Cong Tien reached out to the emporer for troops to help reclaim the vietnam provence. The emporer sent his son (and general) Liu Yauncao and kieu gave him the title of jeidushi. From this point on he would be preparing troops to invade the Bach Dang river mouth.
